What is Case Class?
The Case Class is a training program for twelve carefully selected, high-performing bachelor’s students at the University of St.Gallen.
As part of the program, participants represent HSG at international case competitions. Participation typically involves one week of travel, with competition-related travel costs covered by the Consulting Club.
The Case Class competes against teams from other leading universities across North America, Europe, and Asia. In recent years, participants have attended competitions in Montreal, Bangkok, Vancouver, Amsterdam, Oslo, Navarra, Belgrade, and Budapest.
Throughout the program, participants develop skills in:
Case Class alumni work at leading firms across consulting, investment banking, private equity, startups, and other industries.
Who are we looking for?
Each year, twelve new members are selected. We look for curious and driven students who take initiative, are eager to learn, enjoy solving challenging business problems, and thrive in a team environment. Successful candidates typically demonstrate strong academic performance and a record of commitment and achievement beyond the classroom.
Applications are open to bachelor’s students from all academic disciplines. (Please note that Assessment Year and master’s students are not eligible to apply).
Program structure and time commitment
During the autumn semester, participants work in teams to solve a business case each week and present their recommendations during the weekly Case Class session. In the spring semester, each participant represents HSG at an international case competition, which typically involves one week of travel, sponsored by the consulting club.
The program is designed to be completed alongside a regular bachelor student's course load.
